Founder and Managing Director
Kirk Laughlin is an award-winning expert in information technology and offshore BPO/ contact center trends and strategies. Laughlin has emerged as one of the foremost thought-leaders on the expansion of services, outsourcing and inward-investment in the Americas. He speaks frequently at conferences throughout the Americas.
Earlier, Laughlin was a Managing Director at Ziff Davis Enterprise, based in New York City. He has won four awards for journalism achievements in his 24-year career. Laughlin and his team launched Nearshore Americas in September, 2009. He has been a guest speaker at over twenty-five conferences in the region, including forums in Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Chile, Argentina, Jamaica, Mexico, Colombia, Honduras, Saint Lucia, Curacao, Antigua, Belize, Nicaragua and the United States.
A Mexico-based journalist and translator, Adam has published articles on art, agriculture, politics, publishing, renewable energy and literature in Confabulario, Forbes, Gatopardo, GQ, Greentech Media, Prairie Fire and Publishing Perspectives, among other publications, and he has covered major sporting events in China, Russia, Turkmenistan, Qatar and his native UK. His translations include a series of trilingual children’s books published by Editorial Resistencia, and the autobiography of Lorena Ochoa.
News Editor for Nearshore Americas, Narayan Ammachchi is a career journalist with a decade of experience in politics and international business. He works out of his base in the Indian Silicon City of Bangalore.
Tim has been a regular contributor to Nearshore Americas since 2012. He is a former Research Analyst with IDC in Toronto and has over 20 years’ experience as a technology and business journalist, including extensive reporting from Latin America. A graduate of McGill University in Montreal, he has received numerous accolades for his writing, including a CBC Literary and a National Magazine award. He divides his time between Canada and Mexico. When not chasing down stories, he is busy writing the Detective Sánchez series of crime novels.
