Dimension Data Acquires Canada’s Millennium 1 Solutions

Canada’s Gores Group has sold off its call center unit Millennium 1 Solutions to Dimension Data for an undisclosed amount.

Once the deal is closed, Dimension will fold Millennium into its subsidiary Merchants, which also provides call center services.

With more than 2,000 employees, Millennium 1 Solutions provides contact centers and credit card support services to Canadian organisations operating mainly in the financial services, insurance, and retail sectors.

As per the deal, Millenium CEO Tom Band will continue to head Merchant’s business in Canada.

Millennium will henceforth focus on omnichannel customer service, backing up its call center agents with custom apps and chatbots.

The acquisition helps Merchants expand its contact center business into North America, while also bringing credit card expertise to the rest of the company.

“Merchants has strengths and capabilities in areas and verticals such as telco, retail, airlines, and service desk, and the acquisition will expand Merchants’ go-to-market offerings in North America,” explained Joe Manuele, Dimension Data’s Group Executive.

“In turn, Millennium’s capabilities and vertical expertise, particularly in credit card and financial services, complements Merchants’ offerings. This augurs well for our future growth and expansion plans.”
