A new $10 billion government investment in Costa Rica will be used to build infrastructure – including roads, bridges, hospitals and airports – and regulations related to labor and teleworking will also be tweaked.
The expansion will increase the company’s headcount in the country to in excess of 4,500, said the Washington DC-based company in a statement. Ibex’s other call centers are in Portmore and downtown Kingston.
Much of this money went to computer hardware makers, while software development sector made US$10.5 billion in revenue, according to a study conducted by IDC for Brazilian Association of Software Companies (ABES).
Marcelo headed Stefanini’s Mexican operations until 2012, when the IT services provider split its operations into four regional units: Brazil, Latam (Spanish-speaking countries), the United States, and Asia/ Europe.
