TCS Hires Technology Graduates in the U.S.

Indian BPO provider TCS has hired 174 college graduates in the United States as part of its ‘commitment to generate jobs and support economic growth’ in the country. that accounts for a major portion of its outsourcing business. This is the latest batch of graduates that the Indian IT services giant is hiring inside the U.S, which accounts for a major portion of its outsourcing business.

“We have hired more than 500 graduates over the past four years,” said the Mumbai, India-based IT services firm in a press release. These new employees hail from 26 states plus the District of Columbia.

Seventy-four of the new employees joined in April and June, and the remaining 100 will join in the weeks ahead. They will undergo a training program that TCS organizes at its facility in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Upon completing the training program, 100 of the new staff will be based at the Cincinnati campus, which has a workforce of over 600. The remaining 74 will be working in different locations across the country to support business growth in those markets.

“TCS is committed to identifying, developing and providing growth opportunities for local talent throughout the United States,” said Surya Kant, President of North America, UK & Europe Operations at TCS. “We view new college graduates as an opportunity to grow our highly skilled workforce and help support economic growth across the country.”

The BPO provider stated it had been focusing on an effort ‘to cultivate the talent that will make up the future technology workforce.’ In June, TCS joined joined US2020 as a Founding Leadership Partner.  US2020 is a national STEM education initiative designed to engage one million science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) professionals in mentorship opportunities by the year 2020.

In addition, TCS has recently kicked off its own STEM education initiative (the TCS goIT Student Technology Program) designed to inspire students to launch a career in the high-tech industry.
