Accenture to Hire 1000 Technology Professionals in Brazil

Accenture is expanding its delivery center in Recife, Brazil, adding 1,000 positions, with the outsourcing firm accelerating its push into Brazil’s application services market.

Located in Porto Digital, this delivery center in Recife provides several technology services, mainly application management, application testing, and application development.

But this center is part of Accenture’s Global Delivery Network, where there are also software professionals developing new solutions for digital technologies including social, mobile, analytics and cloud.

Most of those Accenture is going to hire will serve for the service division. According to its press release, all 1,000 positions will have been filled by the end of 2017. The new recruits will undergo a training program before being integrated into the company.

Accenture opened this delivery center Recife in 2010. It is believed that there about 300 people working at the center. Earlier in February, Accenture acquired Gapso, one of Brazil’s major data analytics services provider with a focus on supply chain and logistics applications.

This acquisition must have opened up the door for Accenture to explore clients in Brazil’s mining and oil & gas segments, say analysts.

Accenture has several delivery centers across Brazilian cities, including Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Belo Horizonte, Vitória, Recife, Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Alphaville, Campina Grande and Rio de Janeiro.

Here finance, health, telecommunications, consumer goods and natural resources are the major industry verticals the company is dealing with. Accenture claims it is one of the largest IT employers in the region, adding that its employees possess degrees from the top universities.
